Some wedding days feel special from the very beginning, and Rachel and Steven’s wedding at Tumbledown Farm in Brookfield, New Hampshire was one of those days.
The morning greeted us with blue skies, sunshine, and a strong breeze- the kind of weather every couple hopes for. Rachel was absolutely stunning. Effortlessly beautiful, she carried herself with a calm confidence and kindness that seemed to put everyone around her at ease. She spent the day smiling, laughing, and soaking in every moment. Steven matched her warmth perfectly. Despite standing at nearly seven feet tall, his presence reflected the same caring nature he showed throughout the day. He was constantly checking in on family, friends, and vendors alike, carrying himself with strength and care of someone who genuinely looks after the people he loves.
The anticipation built throughout the day as they chose not to do a first look. Their families were more than ready to see these two finally say “I do.” Rachel’s bridesmaids looked stunning in soft cream-yellow dresses, while Steven’s groomsmen embraced the venue’s country charm with black leather cowboy boots and western belt buckles.
Tumbledown Farm provided the perfect backdrop. Originally built in the late 1800s, the historic barn sits among rolling fields and working farmland, preserving the rustic beauty and agricultural heritage of New Hampshire. Guests loaded onto tractors for the short ride to the ceremony site, where breathtaking mountain views stretched across the horizon and cattle grazed peacefully in nearby fields.
Then the weather changed.
As guests arrived, rain began to fall. People huddled beneath trees, umbrellas, scarves, purses- anything they could find for cover. I was fully prepared to photograph the ceremony one-handed with an umbrella and camera. But just as the tractor carrying Rachel and her father arrived, something incredible happened. The clouds parted and the rain stopped. The sun broke through so brightly it felt almost magical.
The ceremony itself was deeply personal and emotional. Tears streamed down faces throughout the crowd- especially Steven’s. Rachel was radiant as she walked down the aisle, her beauty matched only by the joy shining across her face as she approached the man she was about to marry. Their vows revealed a love rooted in admiration, unwavering devotion, and a profound understanding of one another. The way they spoke reflected not only passion, but the kind of partnership built on trust, tenderness, and the daily choice to care for one another wholeheartedly. Every word felt intimate and sincere, drawing everyone present into the depth of their connection.
After the ceremony, the sunshine stayed, and the celebration truly began. The dance floor remained packed all night long. Song after song kept guests moving, and I quickly learned that Steven has some seriously impressive dance moves. Rachel’s dad was equally entertaining, joining dance circles and keeping everyone laughing. Watching their friends and family celebrate with such joy was impossible not to smile at.
Rachel and Steven, your wedding day was filled with so much love, laughter, and heart. It was an honor to witness and document the beginning of this next chapter together. May your marriage always be filled with the same warmth, devotion, and joy that surrounded you on this unforgettable day.
