I met up with Rachel and Steven at Odiorne State Park in Rye, NH for their engagement photos, and right away I knew it was going to be a fun session. They’re both so easygoing and full of energy, and the way they naturally interact with one another made photographing them effortless. They laughed, joked, and just enjoyed being together, which always makes for the best kind of photos.
Their story goes back to 2020, when they first met at a bar in Manchester. A second date quickly followed, and five years later they’ve built a life together that includes a new home and their yellow lab, Teddy, who has become part of their everyday adventures.
In June of this year, Steven proposed at their favorite spot, Newfound Lake. It ended up being in the pouring rain, but surrounded by friends and family, the moment couldn’t have been more meaningful. That same mix of joy and spontaneity carried into their engagement session. It rained all day leading up to our shoot, but just as we got started the clouds lifted and the sun broke through, giving us an amazing backdrop along the shoreline.
Looking ahead, Rachel and Steven will be married at Tumbledown Farms in Brookfield, NH in June of 2026. It’s such a beautiful venue, and knowing their personalities, I’m sure their wedding will be full of genuine, happy moments, much like their engagement session. I’m already looking forward to being there to document it all!
