Happily Ever After
When people ask me “how did you meet your husband?” I find myself giving the quick answer. I hardly ever go into detail because it just takes too long to explain. It is a really good story, so this series takes you from how we met all the way to our wedding day!
Catch Up:
It was my mother’s dress. As I put it on, there wasn’t a dry eye in the getting ready room. The door opened and the venue coordinator told me “it was time” and guided me and my bridesmaids to the hallway. I walked down the hallway to the door. My dad was waiting for me at the end and when he saw me he started to tear up. “You look beautiful” he said. It was a cool 75 degrees, which was abnormal for July 29, exactly 2 years after we started dating. It had been sprinkling on and off the whole day but as I stepped out of the door frame and onto the grass the sprinkling stopped. My dad held my arm and we walked down to the aisle of chairs. I look up, and there is Ben, looking right at me, smiling with his eyes. I don’t think I breathed the entire way down the aisle. I couldn’t believe this was happening. Everything was a blur and I could hardly focus on anything that was being said. He grabbed my hand and said his vows. Wow, ok my turn.
I, Amanda, in faith, honesty, and love, take Ben, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, according to God’s holy ordinance, till death do us part.
The next thing I remember is “with this ring, I thee wed” and then Ben slid my wedding band down my finger. Surreal. My turn. “With this ring I thee wed” I slide his wedding band down his finger. I look up and we just stare at each other.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride”
It was a perfect day.
This story was the end of our beginning but the beginning of our forever.
Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite.
