Great Island Commons Spring Engagement Session | Newcastle, NH | Hanna + Dalton

This Great Island Commons spring engagement session was the kind that makes me fall in love with New England all over again. The breeze off the ocean, the gorgeous purple sunset, and Dalton and Hanna bringing so much warmth to this beautiful coastal spot.

Dalton and Hanna originally met in college at Bentley University, way back in 2013. They were in a group project together (yes, a classic beginning!) and shared mutual friends, but didn’t start dating at the time. Life moved forward…graduation, new jobs, new cities.

It wasn’t until 2020, right in the heart of a pandemic, that their paths crossed again. Like so many couples who connected during that strange season, they found each other online, instantly recognized one another, and already had each other’s numbers saved. A few texts later and Dalton was driving up to Portland for their first date. And from there? Everything clicked.

They made it official quickly, met each other’s families, and even made long-distance work for two years! Their story is such a beautiful picture of timing, patience, and the sweet surprises that come when you least expect them.

Their proposal was perfectly them. Dalton woke her up early one morning, promising a boat ride to Martha’s Vineyard for breakfast at the Black Dog. The weather had other plans…thick fog meant they never made it…but somewhere out on the water, Dalton knelt down and proposed. It was quiet, simple, and completely them. No performance. Just heart.

That same heart showed up all throughout their engagement session. Whether they were laughing at a private joke, walking hand-in-hand down the beach, or wrapped up in each other, I kept thinking how lucky I am to witness love stories like this one.

Dalton and Hanna, thank you for trusting me to document this sweet season. You bring such light to each other, and I already know your wedding day will be full of so much meaning, laughter, and joy. I can’t wait to celebrate you both again soon!
