Portsmouth is one of my favorite cities and I was so happy to meet Kelly and Eric (all the way from Vermont) here! They both went to UNH (before they met) so they are familiar with the city, but they don’t come into the area often. However, they love the seacoast and visit Maine every summer. They both talked about how much they love seafood and how they miss the plethora of fresh seafood that the seacoast provides! We walked around Strawbery Banke as a fiddle band was just finishing a concert and then ended our time together near the Memorial Bridge.
Kelly and Eric met online during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. Their first date was a walk around a lake in Burlington VT. They joke about how pandemic dating was so different than normal dating, but they talk fondly about their quiet date nights of takeout and movies.
Kelly knew Eric would be proposing soon but she was still hoping it would be a surprise. She was expecting that she would see it coming. One morning while walking their dog Eric asked her to grab something out of the mailbox because he was unable to carry it all in yesterday. She went over to the mailbox and much to her surprise it was a ring box. Eric got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. The neighbors were outside filming and photographing the whole thing. Eric pulled it off!!
I am so looking forward to the next time these two come into town. I can’t wait to celebrate next year!
