An Open Letter To My Husband: Our 8 Year Anniversary

Some people don’t believe in soulmates. They don’t believe that you can find “the one”. Some people don’t believe in fate.

I’m not one of those people.

All I know is what I’ve experienced, and this past decade (since the day I met my husband) has opened my eyes. I believe! (If you haven’t read our story, start here. )

Soul Mates

I don’t know how you are so familiar to me – or why it

feels less like I am getting to know you and more as though

I am remembering who you are. How every smile, every

whisper brings me closer to the impossible conclusion that

I have known you before, I have loved you before – in

another time, a different place – some other existence.

– Lang Leav

This poem is from this book. Highly recommend!

Ben,

Sometimes it feels like our wedding was yesterday and other times it feels like it was 100 years ago. We’ve grown so much together, closer, and have changed so much from where we started. We have crossed many things from our bucket list, and we still have so much to do together. But… looking back over the years it is not what we accomplished or where we’ve been that I love the most. It is all of the inside jokes. It is the fact that you can always make me laugh and that you find me equally hilarious. I love our witty banter the most. You are definitely the most fun part about me. You push me out of my comfort zone and sometimes force me to have fun. Being alone with you is still my favorite. You are my safe place. My refuge. If we can thrive through this past year I am confident that we can do anything together. You are my number one encourager and support and you make me a better person. I love you with my whole heart.

So let’s raise a glass as the tradition we started in Mexico 8 years ago continues…

2,920 Days

243 Months

2 Children

1 Foster Kid

2 Houses

30,000 Kisses

and 8 Tequila Shots later.

Here’s to us love!
