The Rivermill in Dover Wedding | Carly + Nick

My last wedding of the 2026 season was certainly one to remember! I was so excited to see Carly and Nick again after photographing their engagement session just a few months ago. They are such a beautiful couple, and I couldn’t wait to capture their wedding day.

A few days before the wedding, it became apparent that a nor’easter was making its way toward New England, forcing Carly and Nick to change their wedding plans at the last minute. My heart truly felt for both of them- I can only imagine how difficult it was to watch the day they had spent so much time planning suddenly have to change because of something completely out of their control. But you never would have known the stress or disappointment either of them may have been feeling. Carly and Nick were both so calm, flexible, and focused on what really mattered: getting married and celebrating with the people they love.

I met Carly at the Surf Shack in Hampton, where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law in the cutest matching pajama sets. Carly incorporated some incredibly meaningful details into her bridal look. She wore a beautiful silk robe made from her late grandmother’s wedding gown and also wore her grandmother’s wedding ring. Her stunning hair was styled in a boho braid, while Nick looked incredibly sharp in his blue suit, perfectly complementing their coastal wedding style.

Despite the wind, we headed to Hampton Beach for the first look they had envisioned. Carly and Nick shared personal vows with one another before we continued with portraits along the beach. The wind sweeping through Carly’s hair and dress created some of my favorite candid, in-the-moment images, until the rain finally sent us inside!

One of my favorite things about Carly is her attention to detail. She handmade so many pieces of their wedding, including decoupaged oyster shell favors, their invitation suite, napkins, table numbers, signs, cake plate, and Volkswagen cupcake display. She even did her own makeup!

Despite changing venues the day before, The Rivermill in Dover brought everything together beautifully, and you truly never would have known that this wasn’t the original plan. Las Olas catered the evening- which, as a Las Olas fan myself, I was very excited about! More than anything, the reception was such a reflection of how much Carly and Nick care about the people in their lives. They spent much of the evening visiting each table, being present with their guests, sharing special first dances, enjoying an amazing dinner, and partying with their closest family and friends. And just before my final wedding of the 2026 season officially came to an end, I got to capture something I definitely wasn’t expecting: Carly doing a cheerleading stunt right in the middle of the dance floor! That was certainly a first for me and such a fun, memorable way to wrap up not only Carly and Nick’s incredible day, but my wedding season as well.

Cheers Mr. and Mrs. Cornell!
