We had ourselves a fall wedding this weekend and I was here for it! Fall is my absolute favorite season and I was excited to spend the day with Jordyn and David.
I met them in downtown Portsmouth at The Envio, a sleek, modern hotel, with views of the Portsmouth Harbor. The hotel is filled with one-of-a-kind décor, fireplaces and hanging Edison bulb lighting. When you enter the wedding venue, you are greeted with high ceilings, beautiful unique chandeliers and a private terrace.
I had been looking forward to Jordyn and David’s wedding since I shot their engagement session last September. I had first met them in downtown Portsmouth and quickly learned that the quintessential New England town held a special place in their heart. They enjoyed exploring and going out in the area, which ultimately led them to the decision to have their wedding there.
Jordyn and David shared with me their love for Taylor Swift, which we quickly bonded over. I was told that Taylor would be a key feature in the wedding and she absolutely was. Their brother-in-law, who was their officiant, quoted her in the ceremony, David and Jordyn walked down the aisle to her, and a couple of her songs played during the reception.
Speaking of the reception, the father of the bride had the sweetest speech for his daughter and son-in-law. You could look around the room and see many wiping tears from their eyes. One of my favorite parts of shooting weddings is seeing the relationships the brides and grooms have with their parents. It is such a privilege to witness these moments! Jordyn and David finished the night dancing with all of their loved ones, waving around giant glow sticks and belting out the lyrics to their favorite tunes.
What a fun wedding to close out the season with! Thank you, Jordyn and David, for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day at The Envio.
