The beginning of May is such a beautiful time here in New England. The first 2 weeks of May is the only real “spring time” we see up here. These two weeks is when trees are blooming, new life is sprouting, and the temperatures begin to warm. It also sometimes calls for wind, and on this particular day it was very windy! That didn’t damper the feel of the day at all though, it was all love and joy on Maddy and Brad’s wedding day at Stage Neck Inn!
This wedding day was filled with so many personal touches. I love when couples make their wedding day personal to them, and Maddy and Brad definitely did that! For starters, they were married in the same church that Maddy’s grandmother got married in the 1940s. I love that connection to her family and to her history!
The reception at Stage Neck Inn was so beautiful. The room was filled with flowers, greenery, and personal touches. One of my favorite parts of the day was during Maddy’s mother’s toast. I had never heard of grape Nehi (which is a grape soda) until this toast. Maddy’s mother described a time when Maddy was 11 years old and her dad asked a friend for a case of grape Nehi. Maddy told her parents she wanted to keep one to drink on her wedding day…and they ACTUALLY kept one! So on her wedding day they pulled out this bottle of grape Nehi and then passed out a soda to every guest and they all toasted. Isn’t that incredible?
Maddy and Brad are two very special people. They are both so kind and generous, so selfless and light hearted. The way they met is fate and their proposal story is epic. (To read all about that story, click here). It truly was an honor being at their wedding day.
Congratulations Maddy & Brad! It was truly an honor to capture your special day!
