You can teach an old dog new tricks.
I have always been very intrigued by the science of Psychology. I was a Psych Minor in college, I read about it, and I listen to anything I can get my hands on about it. Come to think of it, I’m a little bit obsessed. It is FASCINATING! Psychology is all about studying the human mind and human behavior, and as a mother it is even more captivating. Not only am I very curious about what is happening in my children’s minds (although I’m pretty sure nobody knows what goes on in my 3 year old’s mind sometimes) I am even more interested in my own mind. Why I do certain things, act a certain way, and think the way that I do. Being a mother really makes you hyper aware of yourself in a deeper way that you never knew.

However productive you feel in your life right now…you can always improve. The latest movement in the field of Psychology is all about neuroplasticity. Which basically means, you can teach an old dog new tricks. You have the power to retrain your mind, to re-write your script, to change and actually begin to think and behave the way that you want to. So if you want to be more productive and more efficient with your time…you can be. This series can help.
Mothers are the ninjas of efficiency. We have to be in order to thrive. If we ever want to accomplish anything aside from wiping noses and picking up toys, we have to figure out how to make use of every second…especially the UNINTERRUPTED seconds of the day..a.k.a. naptime. Psychologists rave about a “mind hack” that involves setting a timer for yourself. They say if you can commit to focused work within a set time period (say 30 minutes) you will accomplish way more in those 30 minutes then you could all day. Sounds like they’re taking a page out of a mother’s arsenal. When you know that you only have 2 hours and the clock is tickin’….YOU MOVE, you focus, you get it done. No distractions. No social media, no TV, no phone calls, nothing. That time goes quick.
This series is all about my adventures during the 2 hour nap time over the last 5 years of being a mom. How I managed my time to the extent that I was able to build a business from nothing. How I keep the house running and clean. How I plan ahead for the 4:00 witching hour (or as I affectionately call it…The 4:00 Fussiess…so fun). How I maintain my sanity, wellness, and health. All of the things. Whether you’re a mom or not, these stories and tips are sure to help (and possibly entertain!).
