Allison and Dom’s engagement session at Great Island Commons in New Castle may not have come with sunshine, but the overcast skies were peaceful and honestly, it suited their soft, natural vibe perfectly. The sky was moody and gray, but a light breeze came off the water just enough to balance out the summer humidity, making it a comfortable and calm evening by the coast.
These two looked effortlessly chic in coordinated white tops and denim… simple and timeless. They arrived glowing with excitement and ready to have fun, and that joy came through in every frame.
I was especially excited for this session because I actually met Allison a few years ago when I photographed one of her best friend’s weddings. When I learned about the connection, I was thrilled- I love when these things come full circle!
Allison and Dom’s love story goes way back, high school sweethearts through and through. Allison played field hockey, and fun twist: Dom’s mom was her coach. One day, Allison sat at Dom’s lunch table, and the rest is history. They followed each other to Keene State, building a life together from teenage years into adulthood, and now, engagement.
Just shy of their ten-year anniversary, Dom proposed during one of their favorite traditions: a date night in the North End of Boston. It’s a place full of memories for them, great restaurants, plenty to explore, and a little magic. Dom popped the question down by the water with a secret photographer hiding nearby to capture the whole thing. Perfectly planned and deeply personal.
These two have already shared so many big chapters together, and their July wedding next summer will be the start of an exciting new one. I can’t wait to photograph it!
