We are 6 days away from the first day of fall and it was so apparent tonight. I headed to Newcastle and when I had arrived, the sun was starting to set and there was a cool breeze coming off of the ocean.
Alicia and Doug met me on the beach. They looked great! I introduced myself and we began walking along the shore. I asked how they met and Doug shared that they had actually gone to high school together, but that they did not know each other. Several years later, they were out at a bar in Boston with a shared group of friends, ended up talking the whole night, and have been together ever since. I asked them if they have been back to that bar where they met and Alicia shared it has since been demolished. They were so funny about it that it had me laughing too.
As I continued getting to know them, I learned that they love to go out to eat and try new restaurants. They have different interests, like Alicia is not a fan of outdoor activities (except for fun photoshoots on the beach 😉 while Doug loves to be outdoors. Alicia described him as being able to pitch a tent outside and being perfectly content sleeping there for days. Once again, I was cracking up!
Alicia is a planner. She is my kind of girl- she knows what she wants, she lets you know and she gets it done. When I asked if the engagement was a surprise, Doug shared that he tried his hardest to make it one but Alicia still knew it was happening. Nonetheless, it was thought out and Alicia’s family was involved with it, too, which makes it so special.
This photoshoot was a blast. I think one of my favorite parts of tonight was witnessing how much fun Doug and Alicia have with one another. It was so sweet. They are getting married in July of 2023 and they are ready for it. I cannot wait- cheers!
