Jill and Austin’s wedding at The Eagle Mountain House in Jackson, NH was a wedding photographer’s dream! The weather was absolutely perfect! We were supposed to have storms roll in around 4:30pm but they never came! 10/10/20 was a very sought after wedding date, and Jill and Austin had been planning this wedding for almost 2 years! These two are from Michigan but had a connection with the White Mountains that was born from their many trips up from Boston. Austin worked in Boston for a short time and during that time they racked up lots of airline miles going back and forth seeing each other! They knew that the White Mountains in October would be epic, and I am so glad that I got to be there for their beautiful day!
Jill and Austin are fun loving, witty, and humorous! Walking around Eagle Mountain House’s golf course during portrait time was very reminiscent of their very cold November engagement session that happened almost a year ago in the exact same spot!
The day started with the ladies getting their hair and makeup done in the Eagle Mountain Room, which is a large room in the Inn! Afterwards, Jill got her dress on while Austin put on his suit and tie and they got ready for their First Look. This was an intimate affair on the veranda right in front of the bridal suite. You could tell that Jill couldn’t wait to show Austin her dress! It was the sweetest thing to witness. These two have known each other for over a decade and their friendship is so sweet and obvious to everyone around them!
I love when a family member officiates the ceremony. It adds such a personal and intimate touch that nobody else can achieve. Austin’s brother-in-law officiated their wedding and he did such an amazing job! He told their story. How it all started many years ago on a youth trip, how their relationship had to be long distance multiple times, and how they are truly each other’s best friend. So beautiful!
Another favorite was Jill’s father’s toast. It was so sweet and personal. He shared how he told her that he would always be there for her, no matter what happened or what time it was! Her dad then explained that he is no longer the only man who will always be there for her, but Austin will be too. I almost tear up just thinking about the emotion behind those words! Beautiful.
Because of COVID Jill and Austin’s guest list was dramatically reduced, but 40 of their closest family and friends traveled to Jackson, NH to witness their wedding. It was intimate and beautiful! Jill told me that once the dancing started she did not intend on leaving the dance floor, and she didn’t! They all danced and celebrated the night away!
Congratulations Jill & Austin! I am so honored that I got to be there to celebrate with you guys! I’m so sad we live so far apart, but thankful for social media so we can stay in touch! I pray that you have a long and happy marriage, always making each other laugh!
