As soon as guests finished their dinner, before the parent dances were even announced, the dance floor was packed. Open floor dancing hadn’t officially begun, but the party couldn’t be held in any longer. The Isley Brothers and Aretha Franklin belted over the speakers as Ashley and Sam’s family and friends joined together for one of the best wedding guest dance floor participation I have ever seen! The mother of the bride did say in her welcome speech that she expected to see everyone on the dance floor, and boy did they deliver!
It was a beautiful warm August day. It was sprinkling earlier in the morning but the rain held off for the remainder of the day. Ashley and Sam were surrounded by family and friends. Their officiant was a dear friend of theirs and as the ceremony started she made sure to give a back story and how Ashley and Sam met and where she fit into the story. My favorite line was about how Ashley and Sam did similar work. “One counts fish and one counts oysters!” Their shared love of the ocean was mentioned several times throughout the day, clearly soulmates! To learn more about how they met, check out their engagement session blog.
It was such a joy to be a part of their special day and to meet their family and friends!
Congratulations Ashley & Sam! I feel so honored that I got to celebrate your wedding day with you. I pray that you two have a long, healthy, and happy marriage!
