Prescott Park Engagement Session | Caitlin + Nick | Associate Wedding

Some love stories truly feel like they were meant to be, and that was certainly the case for Caitlin and Nick.

I met this wonderful couple at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, for their engagement session, along with their adorable chocolate lab puppy, Winni, named after one of their favorite places, Lake Winnipesaukee. From the moment we started, it was impossible not to notice how much fun these two have together. They spent the entire session laughing, teasing one another, and enjoying every moment.

Caitlin, a fifth-grade teacher, and Nick, a civil engineer, met through Hinge. At the time, Caitlin had nearly given up hope on online dating. But when she came across Nick’s profile, she immediately noticed something unusual…based on his photos, she was pretty sure he lived in Ossipee, just like she did. As it turned out, her instincts were right. What started as a dating app match quickly became something much more meaningful.

After about a year of dating, the two were ready to take the next step and move in together. Four years later, they are engaged and planning their future together after Nick proposed last August.

One of my favorite parts of the session was watching them interact with Winni. The love and care they have for their sweet pup was evident, and it was easy to see how excited they are about building a family together and all the adventures that lie ahead.

In just two weeks, I’ll have the honor of photographing their wedding at Castle in the Clouds, a stunning historic estate perched high above Lake Winnipesaukee. Originally built in the early 1900s by shoe manufacturer Thomas Plant, the 16-room mansion offers breathtaking views of the lake and Ossipee Mountains and is now recognized as a National Historic Landmark.

I’ve never photographed an engagement session quite this close to a wedding day, but their busy schedules made this the perfect time and honestly, the timing couldn’t be better. All of those poses will still be fresh in their minds!

Caitlin and Nick, thank you for such a fun evening. I cannot wait to see you both again so soon and capture the beginning of your next chapter surrounded by the beautiful Ossipee Mountains.
