I had the honor of shooting one of the most loving, joyful weddings I’ve seen. I had loved getting to know Nora and Collin from our engagement shoot last year and could not wait to see them again!
Nora and Collin live in Massachusetts but they fell in love with a quintessential New Hampshire venue, the Bedford Village Inn. It was my first time at this venue and when I arrived, I could see why they chose this property. The Inn was a classic New England colonial home, with beautiful gardens, huge wooden beams, warm lighting and antique decor.
I met Nora in the bridal suite while she was getting her hair and make-up done. She looked beautiful, wearing the cutest jammies and robe. She was calm and excited for the day. She also had everything planned to perfection- the colorful florals and her box of perfectly organized details. Collin had the same demeanor as Nora, he was relaxed, hanging with his groomsmen, waiting to get the day started.
A summer day in New England can be totally unpredictable when it comes to weather. When I arrived, it was warm and sunny. Before we knew it, dark clouds were quickly approaching followed by lightning, thunder and pouring rain. I have to say, I don’t think I’ve worked with a couple that handled the change with such kindness and grace. The ceremony was moved indoors, as well as the first look. Nonetheless, everything was still so beautiful and we ended up having a short break in the storm that allowed us to make it outside for many of the photos!
Throughout the day, I was in awe of the thoughtfulness that Nora and Collin had put into their big day. Nora had a locket on her bouquet that had been in her family for generations. She presented her mom and sister with the sweetest portraits that brought tears to their eyes (and mine!) Collin picked out gorgeous earrings for his bride-to-be while Nora presented personalized cuff links. I learned after the ceremony that she also surprised him with an inscription on the inside of his wedding band with the last sentence of their vows: “All the days of our lives.”
It was evident that their love for one another was so immense. With all of the hustle and bustle a wedding day can bring, especially with unexpected last-minute changes, Nora and Collin never wavered from being present.
