There’s something so special about getting to photograph a family more than once. And when that family started out as one of my A Rai couples, it makes getting to see their story unfold feel even sweeter.
I first got to be part of Sarah + Russell’s story on their wedding day. And now, here we are, welcoming their second little girl into the family. Watching their love grow from two people in love to a family of four is one of those things that never gets old.
A Cozy Winter Newborn Session
It was a cold winter day here in New Hampshire, but inside the studio, we were warm, cozy, and settled in for a morning of photographing this sweet new chapter.
The girls wore the most beautiful neutral tones, which felt right at home in the soft, timeless feel of the studio. Nothing too fussy or overdone, just a family snuggled together, getting to know their newest little love.
I love studio newborn sessions for exactly this reason. There’s no worrying about the weather or rushing around. We can slow down, settle in, and focus on the people who matter most.
A Family of Four
Welcoming a second baby is such a special season. Your family already has its own rhythm, and suddenly there’s a new little person to make room for. There’s a big sister stepping into a new role, tiny fingers to hold, and another face you’ll spend years watching change.
I adored watching big sister dote over her baby. These are the moments I love documenting. Not because everything needs to be perfectly posed, but because these early days are full of little things you’ll want to remember.
And getting to photograph this family again, years after their wedding, makes it all the more meaningful. I love seeing my couples grow into A Rai families, and I feel so lucky when they invite me back to document another chapter.
The wedding day was just the beginning.
